Have you ever heard of the term diptych or triptych art? What do these terms mean? Simple, in the modern art world a diptych piece of art or painting such as described as a 2 piece set of paintings are simply a piece of artwork that has been carried out over two piece of canvas. Sometimes depending on the subject matter, these are normally one single scene or theme spread over the surface of two canvases.
A triptych on the other hand is a panoramic scene or theme spread over three pieces of canvases, more comomnly known as 3 piece canvas art paintings. Over the recent years triptych art has become popular amongst art lovers, interior designers and decoraters as well as amongst a host of popular artists now creating them.
Where would you display these kinds of art?
This is one of the main reasons why I chose to write this article was to share with many who have asked me this question. Diptych and triptych art are best displayed in any modern settings, living rooms, dining rooms and of course in coporate establishments such as receptions, hotels and restaurants too. 3-piece canvas paintings vary in many sizes from 3ft to anything up to 7ft plus in width, so a good wall space is needed to show them off at their best.
Triptyh or diptych art are a more modern way of displaying art on canvas. The fact that it has been carried out on two or three canvas panels create a window of creativity and ambience in any modern living space.
